GimKat, the new company of Katmerciler launches mass production of Euro 580,000 Fire fighting tanks for exports.

  • Founded as a manufacturer of fire-fighting tools and equipment, GimKat starts production. The new company aims to transform Izmır into a regional centre for production and exports, especially through exports-oriented business operations.
  • The Company’s primarily targeted markets for its productions, which are yet uncommon in Turkey, include Africa, Middle East, Caucasia, Asia Minor and Balkans.

GimKat On-Board Equipment JSC, a fully owned subsidiary of Katmerciler, an industrial forerunner in Turkish on-board equipment sector, has started production. The initial lot of Company’s production will be supplied for Gimaex International, through exports. With an overall sale worth of Euro 580,000 on order, delivery of the tanks is scheduled to take place in April, this year.
Initially founded in 1985 and went public in 2010, Katmerciler prepares for becoming an exports base in the area of fire-fighting tools and equipment manufactures in both national and regional markets, through its newly founded company operation GimKat.
With both central management and manufacturing premises based in Izmir, GimKat pursue activities inside Ataturk Organised Industrial Zone, next to the Central HQ of Katmerciler.

Mr. Furkan Katmerci, Vice President of Katmerciler says GimKat, the operational start-up of which overexcited everyone in their Company, represents a major step taken forth in Katmerciler’s development plans in the regional fire-fighting tools and equipment manufacturing industry.
Stressing that GimKat will grasp a dominant position in the regional markets for the manufacturing and supplies of fire-fighting equipment thanks to the strong synergy created by combination of the established power of Gimaex, a Europe-wide supplier of fire-fighting equipment, in the area of technology and outstanding skills and profound capacities of Katmerciler in the area of production and regional marketing, Mr. Katmerci says, “This collaboration will not only strengthen the positions of both companies in the existing markets, but also open the path for new markets. The top priority targets of the newly founded company will be African, Middle Eastern, Caucasian, Asia Minor and Balkan markets”.
Stating that fire-fighting tanks will constitute the Company’s first line of production, which will be exported, Mr. Katmerci emphasises that initial production for exports has also a particular significance for compliance with the vision of the newly founded company.
Drawing attention to the fact that GimKat will also produce high technology based new vehicle ranges, the production of which is not extensive, yet, much necessitated in Turkey, Mr. Furkan Katmerci notes that GimKat will operate in its new production plant, realised for a total investment cost of USD 6 million. Telling that they will provide added value to the national and Izmir’s local economy and the on-board equipment sector with GimKat, Mr. Katmerci adds that this would be in addition to creating new direct employment opportunities for about 100 additional workers within GimKat’s organisation, which will follow a gradual stance, to add on the Company’s existing staff of 100 individuals.

Indicating that they, as Katmerciler Corporation, will close term 2011 with over a development target of 25 per cent, which also remains effective for the forthcoming term of 2012, he says, “Katmerciler invests much on efforts aimed at becoming a more effective and powerful Corporation in both national and international markets.
