30 companies from Turkey as food,
agriculture, machine, electricity, cleaning
materials and construction sectors participated
in Sanaa International fair. Besides this,
companies from Germany, Italy, India, Egypt,
Tunisia and Kuwait participated in the fair, too.
During the fair, Moh’d Hamood Alwadan, free
zones director in Aden, gave overall information
regarding Yemeni economy by briefing conferences
he organized for the Turkish companies.
Yemen, which obtains % 70 of
its income from petrol and oil products, is a
country which has completed its economic
development through income it has obtained
through petrol.
Unification of North and South
Yemen in 1990 speeded economic growth up. Yemen
is also one of the few countries which produce
natural gas and there is a free zone called
hodeida in Yemen.
Oil occurrence in Yemen took place in 1980 and
oil has an important place in Yemen. With daily
average 400 thousand barrels of oil production,
Yemen comes 30th in the world. Petrol income
constitutes approximately % 70 of state revenue
and % 90 of total exports. The richest oil
reservoirs are in Masila region, and Marib city
is the second richest region of the country with
regard to petrol reservoir. |
